The common mistake people make is thinking that HDTV works on every channel. Not all programming offers high definition, and the ones that do are paid for it. Another misconception is that if you have a

high definition television set, you have high definition, which is incorrect. There is an additional charge for HD programming. So depending on your satellite service you might be paying $50-$100 dollars extra per month.
